The main beach is in the heart of the village — golden sand, shallow water, perfect for families. For something wilder, head to Caldura (15 min walk east): rocks, turquoise water, amazing snorkeling.
The Norman Cathedral (UNESCO) is unmissable — step inside and look up: Christ Pantocrator stares back. The Medieval Washhouse is hidden and free. Climb the Rocca at sunset for the most beautiful view in Sicily.
Skip the seafront tourist restaurants. Dive into the alleys: look for pasta with sardines, arancini and granita with brioche for breakfast. For cannolo, pick the ones with fresh ricotta.
The old town is fully walkable in 20 minutes. Trains connect Palermo (1h) and the airport. Parking: stadium area (free) or seafront (paid). In summer avoid driving into the center.
